Michiana Ronald McDonald House | Gurley Leep Subaru

The Ronald McDonald House of Michiana is a brand new facility being added to the Memorial Children's Hospital in South Bend. This huge facility provides care and comfort for the families of children who are critically ill or injured receiving care at Memorial. The house is equipped with 20 bedrooms for entire families including siblings. Also provided for families is a large kitchen with several cooking areas allowing for multiple families to cook at one time and creates great space for groups coming in daily to prepare meals. Along with tending to the needs of guests, the house is also equipped with a multi-purpose library, mediation room, and a children's play area. The Ronald McDonald House of Michiana helps to provide parents with the most support they can during what is the most difficult of times for many families.
With 4 employees staffed and over 130 volunteers RMHC is able to provide around 12,000 meals a year for parents with a child in the hospital. All of this would be impossible with out the support of donations given from the Michiana community. The Men in Kilts fundraiser is the Ronald Mcdonald Houses largest annual fundraiser. Each year men and women help to raise awareness and support for the thousands of families that are affected by the RMHC by wearing kilts at different events setup throughout Michiana. No families are ever charged for the services provided to them, leaving a last impression on families who have been provided with a warm meal, hot shower, or just a place to rest for a few hours.
